We are thrilled to announce that plans for a major wellness and leisure proposal at The London Club have been approved by Tonbridge & Malling and Sevenoaks councils.  The development adjacent to the Jack Nicklaus golf course will deliver a state-of-the-art expansion to this leading golf destination.

The proposals include a new Driving Range, an enlarged clubhouse, and the transformation of the Grade II* listed South Ash Manor into a wedding and events venue. A new pursuits pavilion and an upgraded equestrian facility to the east are underpinned by a spa hotel with conference facilities and woodland lodges.  A new community Sports Turf Academy completes the proposals. The project will be delivered in phases over the coming years, beginning with the emergency work to South Ash Manor into a high quality wedding venue with guest accommodation.

The scheme will strengthen the position of The London Club as an internationally recognized destination, building its reputation as a world-class premier golf course while expanding facilities to support the training and education of the next generation of sportsmen.

Sustainability is at the heart of the masterplan. Designing a 240-bed hotel alongside treehouse-style lodges, a spa, a gym, and a state-of-the-art driving range requires a sensitive approach that preserves the natural beauty of the English countryside.

As Alex Richards, Managing Partner at Hollaway Studio, explains: “The goal is to develop architecture that feels as though it has been informed by the landscape itself.”  The team has designed an undulating roof that will merge seamlessly with the rolling hills of the 700-acre site, situated between West Kingsdown and the Kent Downs. Landscaping improvements and the conservation of existing ancient woodland are set to increase biodiversity on the site by more than twenty percent.

Hollaway is proud to be working with The London Club on a development that will champion a new era of sporting excellence, nurture talent at every level, and create lasting benefits for the local community while conserving the natural environment.
