Part I Architectural Assistant
BA(Hons)
Sama joined Hollaway in September 2022 as an Assistant Architect after graduating from the University of Kent.
Sama came to England from Bahrain (in the Middle East) for her undergraduate Architecture degree. Her architectural interest especially lies in the psychological impact that architecture can have on individuals. Her dissertation studied how different architectural features can positively aid in the recovery of patients in rehabilitation centres. The architectural features she researched included the presence of nature and sunlight in the living spaces, the spatial layout of the facility and the choice of materials. Sama believes that understanding the power that architecture can have on creating pleasant emotions and tranquillity is important and should be utilized when designing buildings.
Sama works in Kent Studio assisting Mike Pearson on projects including residential and commercial schemes.
Aside from architecture Sama enjoys drawing and reading as well as spending time with her friends and family.
