Jeweller to the stars, Stephen Webster is a massive fan of the doing the utterly unexpected, and so it is that he has created the most extraordinary of shopping experiences. A Hollaway Studio design, his ‘no regrets lounge’ flagship store in Mayfair is an ode to his multi-faceted personality, the shop as front room, a cabinet of the most interesting of curiosities, an insight into the creative influences of the artist at work.
Working closely with Webster, Hollaway Studio transformed the Grade II Listed building into two distinctive rooms – a gallery and a room in which to entertain – and so created an intimate space for private shopping experiences, hosting clients, and throwing parties. ‘I deliberately decorated the new space,’ says Webster, ‘in a way that I can add to it as I feel fit. This way the evolution will be more authentic and in a way homely – and everyone likes to feel at home
Situated on the second floor, devoid of the standard front door, and replete with works of art, bookcases, comfortable furniture, and personal memorabilia, it is the exact opposite of what one would expect of the average Mount Street jeweller. On the contrary, it’s an experience of Stephen Webster, the real person who also happens to be feted as one of the world’s most idiosyncratic jewellers.
